Notes from Najeeb

Last week I was blessed by a dead Afghanistani soldier coming to visit. He died very young, but there was wisdom to his words and essence. He also carried with him violence, sadness and a feeling of being less a than a man because he could not take care of what was most important to him: his family and community.

He wanted me to remind you of the plight in Afghanistan. And to let you know how deeply pained the region is. He asked me to ask you to imagine what it would be like to grow up in a war torn country where your life is expendable because those busy playing God where you live value power more than life. He asked me to remind you of what living in a region of terror does to the land and it`s people. And that when you grow up with violence that reins upon you from outside forces, seeds of hatred are sown.

He asks for compassion and understanding of his people rather than judgement for what you will be (and are) told about them. You do not receive the truth and have little idea of what really goes on there.

Najeeb, asked me to remind you that we are all the same. That we essentially at the core of our hearts and souls want the same things. We all want food, shelter and safety. We want our families to be safe. We want to love and be loved.

Despite the appearance of geography, the myth we call history and the façade we call culture, we are all the same.
What is important to each of us is love and community.

So when you turn on your tv or your radio and are asked to hate your fellow man for what you are told he believes or supposedly does remember that he is the same as you. And that what information you are given has specific intent in blinding you to the fact that we have much more in common than what separates us.

It is only by bonding together that we will all remain sane and whole. Our safety and welfare lies in each other at a local level. He says looking to God and Politicians will not save you. God helps those who helps themselves. Id you want to be helped, look after your brother. Reaching to those outside and far away from you; looking to them to help you will bring you nothing but pain and misery.

Do not make the mistake of expecting those outside of your community to rescue or save you. They have no real interest in your communities and only wish to exploit them. Your safety lies in each others arms; in your family`s arms. Remember that.

Enjoy :) the quality should improve after process if not I will reshoot later :)

yep it`s been a busy, inspired day :) — hope your has been delicious too see you again soon!
